She has gained experience in teaching adults, teenagers (especially for high school assessments) and children from 8 years of age onwards. Both her face to face and online classes are incredibly dynamic and practical and have the purpose to make every student communicative straight away. She has a very friendly yet professional approach that helps students feel comfortable asking questions and participating with enthusiasm. Every class she teaches focuses on grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation and aims both at revising what has been done previously and adding new “bits and pieces” that will contribute to make each student a more confident Italian speaker. Most of her students literally started from scratch and now speak rather fluently. She teaches 6 days a week, including Saturdays, and has a fairly flexible schedule that involves both private and group classes. Since 2021 we have had the priviledge of becoming a Literary Presidium of the Premio Strega, and have participated to the popular jury of the Premio Strega - the most prestigious Italian fiction literary prize. The Premio Strega is a prestigious literary prize. Book Club Premio Strega Since 2021, we have assumed the role of a 'Literary Presidium' for the Rome-based Dante Alighieri Society and have had the honour of participating annually in this capacity as part of the popular jury for the Premio Strega. The Strega Prize stands as the most esteemed Italian fiction literary award. It is bestowed each year upon a book published between 1 March of the preceding year and 28 February of the year in which the prize ceremony occurs. To adhere to the schedule of this event, occurring between mid-April and the end of June, our readers engage in a veritable marathon, reading the 12 books (the renowned 'dozen') to vote for the selection of the top 5 finalists. Each reader presents one of the 12 books to the reading group; we deliberate upon them and then proceed to cast a secret ballot. The winner of our reading group is subsequently communicated to the organisers of the Strega Prize, a task carried out in secrecy to avoid influencing the outcome of the vote. To join the group, a Membership of the Dante Alighieri Society Sydney (or the Italian Cultural Institute of Sydney) for the current calendar year is required. Authors generally provide electronic copies of the books in advance exclusively for use by the Book Club members. Throughout her life, she has lived in multiple cities across Europe. She attended both Italian and French secondary schools, earning her diploma from the French Institute in Rome. She is bilingual in Italian and French. After finishing high school, Beatrice began delivering French lessons. Following her Bachelor’s degree, she started collaborating with a language school in Trieste, consistently teaching both French and Italian. Over the years, she has taught private and group lessons, accumulating more than 500 classes. Her teaching approach is dynamic and interactive, focusing on grammar, speaking and addressing the specific needs of students. Beatrice speaks four languages: Italian, French, English and Spanish. Her multicultural experience has taught her to teach with an open mind to people of all ages, levels and diverse cultural backgrounds. PLIDA (Progetto Lingua Italiana Dante Alighieri) is the official Italian-language certificate issued by Società Dante Alighieri and recognised by the Italian Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Education. It covers all CEFR levels (A1–C2) and is accepted for university admission, work permits and, at B1 level, for Italian citizenship. A course is not compulsory, but we offer an intensive B1-level workshop that will help you master the exact exam format and timing. As soon as your marks are formally recorded by the Central Office, you will receive an automatic email inviting you to log in to your personal area on dante.global to view them. The online portal replaces individual notifications, the centre does not send results to each candidate. How do I get my certificate? As soon as your scores are officially recorded, a digital certificate appears in your Personal Area, ready for download or printing. The personal data on the certificate are exactly those provided at enrolment. If you would like a hard-copy certificate, you can request one through your exam centre: the service costs €50 plus shipping. A PLIDA certificate is issued only if you pass all four skills (Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking); partial passes do not generate a certificate. Can I ask for my score to be reviewed? No. All marks and any decisions taken by the PLIDA Headquarters are final and not open to appeal. What happens if I don’t pass? If you fail one or more of the four skills, you have 18 months from your first full-exam registration to retake only the skills you missed, while the scores you already passed remain valid. You may attempt the make-up tests as many times as you like within that window. After 18 months, all previous scores expire and you must sit the entire exam again. When you register for a partial retake, you pay only the fee for each individual skill, not the full-exam fee—the current rates are listed in the annual PLIDA circular.
