Bio

I was born by the sea in Sicily and grew up in Umbria, the green heart of Italy. I hold a PhD in Social Sciences from Macquarie University, Sydney and am a qualified and experienced teacher of Italian as a second language. I currently work as a sessional teaching academic at the University of Sydney and Macquarie University and teach Italian online to adult learners from all over Australia and New Zealand.

I am an easy-going and empathic person keen to help others. As a fellow researching people, languages, and cultures, I can teach you Italian and its cultural richness beyond habitual and often-misleading stereotypes. Previous professional experiences in the performing arts sector are further assets that allow me to communicate and teach creatively while offering a wide range of topics for casual conversations. My personal motto that applies to my teaching as well says: life is way too short and complex not to try to make any single instant a tad more cheerful and enjoyable.
