About the event
On 2 September, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm, the Aboriginal Dance Theatre Redfern will open its doors for an evening dedicated to bringing together the Australian First Nations and Italian communities through a dialogue on memory, identity, living cultural heritage, and cultural transmission.
The evening will be opened by Christine Donnelly, Director of the Aboriginal Dance Theatre Redfern, who will introduce the significance of ADTR as a place of custodianship, continuity, and the sharing of First Nations cultures. She will also deliver the closing reflections, inviting the audience to consider memory as a living practice capable of connecting communities and generations.
The event is the result of a collaboration between the Aboriginal Dance Theatre Redfern, the Dante Alighieri Society of Sydney, and the University of Sydney, with the aim of creating a space for mutual listening and intercultural exchange in which First Nations voices take centre stage.
