The Dante Alighieri Society offers a range of exciting cultural courses, in
Italian and English, covering music, literature and history. Join us as we
explore the best of Italian historical and contemporary art, make new friends
and help our Society promote Italian culture throughout the world.

- Italian Art & History
A magical journey through Italian art and architecture from the Etruscans to
the present day conducted by renowned art historian Barbara Bertini.
Learn more about the remarkable painting, sculpture and architecture of over
2,500 years of civilisation as you discover the cities, museums and historic
homes of Italy in engaging company and share your travel experiences
with us all.

- Italian in Music
Learn about contemporary Italian music by listening to the best Italian songs
from the past 50 years. With a dash of opera and all your favourite tunes to
the fore, the course offers a rare opportunity to enjoy and discuss the popular
repertoire. Learn the words, study the music and sing along!

- Italian Opera
Opera is Italy's greatest musical gift to the world. Develop your appreciation
of Rossini, Verdi and Puccini through studying their masterpieces, the times
they lived in and their impact that lives on to this day. If you love Pavarotti
or play "Nessun Dorma" in your car, then this is an ideal course for you.

- Dante and 'La Divina Commedia'
This five week course, conducted in English and Italian, is an appreciation of
the most famous figure in Italian literature and his most iconic work. Tackling
the key questions of human existence, 'La Divina Commedia' represents the
finest flowering of the Italian language and is a 'must read' for anyone wishing
